I create for myself. Not for children and not for adults. When an artist draws what he himself finds beautiful, he tells the truth. You can’t lie to children.

Born: May 3, 1944, Vilnius, Lithuania.
1963 Entered the State Art Institute in Vilnius to study architecture, in the same year changed to graphic art.
1970 Graduated from the State Art Institute in Vilnius.
1970 Studies in serigraphy, experimental Institute of Poligraphy in Kiev.
1989 – present Teacher of serigraphy and print, Vilnius Academy of Arts, Faculty of Visual Art, Department of Graphics.
Professor at Vilnius Academy of Arts.

Graphic art, painting, sculpture.
EXHIBITIONS
The artist has held about 10 solo exhibitions. He has taken part in various graphic art and poster exhibitions in Estonia (1980, 1983, 1989), Finland (1983), Latvia (1986), Poland (1984, 1991, 2006), Norway (1992), France (1994), USA (1994), Japan (1994, 1995), Russia (2001), China (2003), Sweden (2005), etc. He represented Lithuania at a contemporary art exhibition held in Australia (1992), and an international cultural exchange exhibition which presented works by Czech, Lithuanian and Japanese artists (Tokyo, 1997, 1998).

AWARDS
2004 Lithuanian National Prize for Culture and Art.

2007 Premium of the Most Beautiful Lithuanian Books Competition for the book Last Days on the Island of Ithaca (Paskutinės dienos Itakėje), Vilnius, Lithuania.
