Lithuanian Culture Institute

The call for applications for the Translation Funding Competition 2025-2026, round II will be announced on March 24, 2025

Please note that electronic applications must be submitted on the website of the Lithuanian Culture Institute. Once you start filling out the application online, you should complete it in a single session. That means you must fill in all required sections, attach the necessary documents, and click the “Submit Application” button without leaving the application page. An unfinished application will not be saved, and if you close the page, your data will be lost. If you return later or the next day, you will have to start over.

To avoid this, we strongly recommend preparing in advance all the necessary information about the publisher, translator, selected publication, and budget, as well as having all requested documents ready on your computer for upload.

Recommended information to prepare in advance:

  • A brief presentation of the publisher
  • A list of translations published by the publisher in the past two years
  • A list of distribution channels and partners for the publication
  • A brief description of the publication’s marketing activities
  • A concise justification for the project’s necessity (the relevance of translating the publication)
  • A short statement on the translator’s professional qualifications and motivation to translate the work

Required documents to attach to the application:

  • A copy of the contract or another written agreement with the author(s) of the publication or the holder(s) of the copyright
  • A copy of the contract or another written agreement with the translator(s) of the publication
  • A freely formatted description of the translator’s professional activities and a list of translated works (if the application does not include a link to publicly accessible free information about the translator’s background and translated works)
  • A cover letter for the application, confirming the accuracy of the information provided in the application and its attachments. The cover letter must be signed by the head of the applying legal entity or an authorized representative, including a copy of the authorization or another relevant document
  • A completed annex of the Procedure for Financing from the State Budget Funds, titled Declaration of a “Single undertaking”
