The Marmies. The Mystery of the Missing Toy
Indrė Pavilonytė, Martynas Pavilonis. Marmiai. Dingusio žaislo detektyvas (The Marmies. The Mystery of the Missing Toy), Vilnius: Alma littera, 2024. – 44 p.
The Marmies. The Mystery of the Missing Toy is the seventh book in the popular series about the mysterious creatures – the Marmies – that come to life after dark. The strangest thing happens in the pitch-black Martwood Forest at night – Marmie Liu’s favourite toy vanishes! Liu is very upset but refuses to give up. He becomes a diligent detective and tries to solve the mystery, which seems just as murky as the Martwood swamps, where his toy has disappeared. The book encourages recognising and accepting uncomfortable feelings, and teaches the importance of acknowledging mistakes and apologising. Above all, it highlights the value of friendship and connections over material possessions.
