Sono Electrum

Justina Kapeckaitė. Sono Electrum (Sono Electrum), Vilnius: Alma littera, 2025. – 232 p.
Sebastian (known as Seb), who has recently finished school, feels he is a failure in the real world – he is not studying anywhere, works in a dull electronics shop, and does not get along with his parents. In the world of computer games, however, he feels like a fish in water. So when one day he receives an invitation to ‘Kalista’, an underground club where he can try a game that surpasses all his previous experiences – Sono Electrum, he does not hesitate. Soon, however, he realises that shadowy things are happening in the club: secrets are everywhere, the boundary between virtual reality and the real world is getting blurred, and escaping seems more and more difficult. In order to survive, Seb will have to face his most dangerous enemy – himself.
The book attracts readers with its dynamic storytelling, convincing characters, psychological insight, and its portrayal of addiction, which is particularly dangerous for young people. The book was included in the 2025 list of the eleven most cinematic works by Lithuanian authors.
