Residency Programme
What is the Residency Programme?
The Residency Programme of the Lithuanian Culture Institute (LCI) aims to create opportunities for Lithuanian artists and other cultural professionals to participate in prestigious art residencies abroad. These residencies enhance international career opportunities, visibility, and the promotion of Lithuanian culture.
How is the Residency Programme Implemented?
LCI establishes partnerships with international art residencies, which serve as the foundation for ensuring and financing ongoing programs dedicated to the residencies of Lithuanian artists and cultural professionals.
LCI forms these partnerships based on a recommended priority list of international art residencies. This list is compiled in consultation with Lithuanian cultural organizations and Lithuanian cultural attachés, taking into account the needs and expertise of the cultural field. The list of potential partner residencies is planned to be updated periodically.
LCI seeks to collaborate with art residencies that meet the following criteria:
-
The residency is located in a country where a Lithuanian cultural attaché operates;
-
The residency’s activities align with LCI’s strategic priorities, including planned large-scale cultural promotion projects abroad;
-
The residency is internationally recognized and provides participants with significant career opportunities;
-
The residency has continuously operated a curated program for at least three years;
-
The residency is designated for creators and/or specialists in one or more of the following fields: visual arts, performing arts, music, or literature;
-
The selection of participants is open and is conducted or co-conducted by the residency organizer;
-
The residency implements international, long-term (multi-year) partnerships.
