In May 2021, the Heidelberger Stückemarkt theatre festival will focus on the Lithuanian theatre scene. The presentation of Lithuanian contemporary theatre and its programme has been organised by Antonia Leitgeb, Project Manager at the Heidelberg Theatre, who visited Lithuania in May 2019, and Jürgen Popig, Chief Playwright at the Heidelberg Theatre, whose research visit was in September the same year.

The following performances will be presented as part of the festival programme in Germany: The Land of Rain (dir. Aidas Giniotis, Vilnius City Theatre Atviras ratas – Open Circle Theatre); Eddie Aggregate, or the Life and Death of the Immortal Optimist (dir. Aidas Giniotis, Keistuolių Theatre); Mari Kardona (dir. Agnius Jankevičius, Kaunas City Chamber Theatre); Tales from the Vienna Woods (dir. Yana Ross, State Youth Theatre – to be confirmed).
