CinAmono
The work by the band CinAmono is a musical journey from fiery New Orleans rhythms, soulful jazz ballads and expressive blues towards original compositions. CinAmono stands out with its distinctive cinnamon interpretations, to quote members of the band, accentuated by Laura Budreckytė’s voice, which brings subtle emotional sensitivity and enchantingly skilful scat.
Laura Budreckytė was born in Birštonas, the mecca of jazz in Lithuania, which is famous for hosting the oldest jazz festival in the country. She learnt Classical piano at Birštonas School of Arts, but jazz, which had surrounded her since her childhood, exerted a stronger influence when choosing her career. Laura studied jazz singing at the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre, after which her prizes at the jazz vocalist international competitions Jazz Voices 2012 (in Klaipėda) and Riga Jazz Stage in 2013 opened the door for her to prestigious jazz festivals in Spain, France, Great Britain, Belgium and Bulgaria.
Meeting the double bass player and her future husband Vytis Nivinskas was a fateful turn in Budreckytė’s private and artistic life. In 2013, this stage and life duo formed the jazz band CinAmono. Over the four years since its birth, the band’s structure has changed from the CinAmono Duo to CinAmono 5. Simonas Šipavičius, one of the country’s most outstanding saxophonists from the younger generation, the virtuoso guitar player Žygimantas Bačkus, and the drummer Domantas Razmus, currently play alongside Laura and Vytis. The band, who are preparing their first album, have lately been collaborating with the dance studio Low Air.
