Archipelagos
Archipelagos was born from the need to safeguard, develop and promote linguistic and cultural diversity within the translated literature market across Europe. Literatures written in European languages other than English are in the minority, and the part played by literary translators in their discovery often remains invisible. Funded by the Creative Europe programme of the European Union, Archipelagos brings together 12 partners who share a common objective: expanding literary routes in Europe, and raising its unseen stories.
Archipelagos is co-funded by the Creative Europe programme of the European Union. Creative Europe supports the translation, publication, distribution and promotion of works of fiction. The funding scheme “circulation of European literary works” supports on average 40 projects per year, to translate and promote works written in less widely spoken languages to develop their distribution to larger markets in Europe and beyond.

On 7-11 October, 2025 Lithuanian Culture Institute together with Archipelagos organized translators seminar/workshop. The aim of the Lithuanian Literature Translators’ Seminar/Workshop is to refresh translators’ knowledge of Lithuanian literature, share experiences, participate in workshops, and meet authors.
