The Lava Drop X guitar is a synthesis of design and professional sound engineering. It is an electric guitar with an integrated interior laser that allows the sound to be modulated. Playing music since his childhood, Rapolas Gražys (born 1991) accepted a challenge from his bachelor’s degree supervisor Juozas Brundza to create a new design for the guitar: the result was his first wooden guitar Lava. Today Lava Drops is a recognized brand not only among professional musicians in Lithuania but throughout the world. Lava Drops products include unique and innovative electric stringed instruments made using unique technologies and particularly rare materials that, combined, produce an authentic sound. Some models feature carbon fibres, rare ebony fingerboards, black amber and lava rock inlays.
Rapolas Gražys is a graduate of the Department of Design at the Vilnius Academy of Arts with a period of study at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts. His work includes musical instruments, high-end audio technology, installations, technology and product design. Gražys has created the modular shelf Audžiu / Weaves which was awarded the Good Design prize in 2013. His works have been exhibited in the United States, the United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom, Sweden, France, and Germany.
