Lithuanian Culture Institute

Two exhibitions of Lithuanian artists Julija Pociūtė and Povilas Ramanauskas will be opened this April. It will be the first time for these artists to be presented to the audience of Berlin. The exhibitions are organized by PE “Art Management Platform” in collaboration with project space “Zönotéka”.

On 11th of April 7 p.m. Julija Pociūtė’s (b. 1981) personal exhibition “Three Sides of Reflection” will be opened in Berlin, project space “Zönotéka”. As the art critic Evelina Januškaitė states, Julija Pociūtė in the installation „Three sides of reflection“ tells one life story. The artist unites different materials to emphasize the relation between most important existential questions – being and nothingness, actuality and illusion, existence and decease. These motifs are the main theme of the exhibition. Julija Pociūtė is one of the rare cases among lithuanian artists, who uses reflective surfaces for the semantic meaning.

On 25th of April 7 p.m. Povilas Ramanauskas’s (b. 1987) personal exibition “Behind the Horizon” will be opened at the same exhibition space. The most important purpose of this exhibition is to create a mesmerizing mood of the person existing behind the horizon. In this case every visitor of the exhibition becomes one. The main area of his creations is contemporary painting which varies between perception range of a traditional and contemporary painting. Artist is looking for right ways to extend painting in other medias, ratio of the minimalistic aesthetics and maximal expression of concept.

Julija Pociūtė’s exhibition “Three Sides of Reflection” will be on view 11th – 23rd of April, 2016.

Povilas Ramanauskas’s exibition “Behind the Horizon” will be on view 25th of April – 7th of May, 2016. From Thursday till Saturday, 3 p.m. – 6 p.m., at project space “Zönotéka” (Hobrechtstrasse54, Berlin).
