Europe for Citizens (2014-2020) is a European Union programme offering financing for initiatives that strengthen European remembrance and encourage civic participation at the EU level.
Goals of the programme:
– To contribute to citizens’ understanding of the EU, its history and diversity;
– To foster European citizenship and to improve conditions for civic and democratic participation at the EU level;
– To raise awareness of remembrance, common history and values;
– To encourage democratic participation of citizens at the EU level, by developing citizens’ understanding of the EU policy-making process and by promoting opportunities for societal and intercultural engagement and volunteering at the EU level.
What does this programme support?
Strand 1: European remembrance: raising awareness of remembrance, common history and EU values as well as the goals of the EU.
Strand 2: Democratic engagement and civic participation: encouragement of democratic and civic participation at the EU level.

Who can submit applications?
Applications can be submitted by legally registered organizations in the public or non-profit sectors.
